I found this useful little application that will read an XML file and help you make a simple list of the markers that you have in your timeline including the marker name and description.  It's called readXML (http://www.spherico.com/filmtools/).

Just export an XML file from your sequence that has all of your markers and save it.  Then open the readXML application and load the XML file.  The only tricky part that I found was that when you press 'Export All Markers' or 'Export Current Markers' it doesn't actually export anything.  It actually just copies all the info to your clipboard in which case you can then just paste the info into a text document or spreadsheet.

After playing around with it for a few minutes you will see that you can pull up your info in a few different ways and adjust what will be exported/copied.  It really is pretty simple.

I am sure that there is a lot more uses for this application.  Anyone else have some experience with it?

I just noticed in FCP 7 that you can now export out a text list straight out of FCP of markers with comments and timecode.   And now that the timeline ripples the sequence markers, you can use this information to create continuities.
