They both make quality hardware. AJA has a better reputation, and unsurpassed support. But Blackmagic has some great prices and features.
I'm waiting to see what cards beyond the Matrox MXO2 Mini will work (display only) with Avid MC 5. I realize of course that this is a FCP forum, but I want to be able to use both NLEs with the same hardware.
